It is with great sadness that we mourn the death of our dear friend and trustee of Torch Trust Malawi, Rose Chaponda. Rose served as a trustee for many years, including as Chair. She brought great wisdom, experience and care for people to her role, and we were so grateful for all that she gave to Torch.
Her experience leading a local school gave Rose a particular passion for education which also shaped her work with Torch, where she and others worked to make volumes of the Bible accessible in Braille, helping more people to have access to God’s word for themselves.
We will miss Rose greatly, particularly her wisdom, her perspective and her friendship. But as we grieve, we also give thanks to God for all that he did through her life and for the many people she championed. Most of all, we give thanks that Rose is now safely home with her Lord and Saviour. We praise God for her life, her faith and all that he did through her. She will be greatly missed.
