        Torch Bearers Update Spring 2022

        PUBLISHED - 2nd March 2022

Providing accessible books for those with sight loss

It is so exciting to share with you our first Torch Bearers update. It is only right to start with a BIG thank you to all of you for signing up and becoming Torch Bearers. We thank God for each and everyone of you who has a heart to share His word and other Christian literature with those who have sight loss. In these updates we want to share with you the difference that you are making to people’s lives. Rosslyn, one of our many clients told me how the resources she receives from Torch have become an essential part of her daily routine. I start to get ready for bed early and unwind by going into my Bible reading notes, Every day with Jesus and Daily Bread…and I have my In Your Pocket and if I wake up I put on a good book, one of your books, so it keeps me in touch with the Lord. It is so encouraging to know that the resources we create are helping people to grow closer to the Lord. So thank you to all of you for helping us to add more amazing resources to our collection.

Please pray with us that more people with sight loss will hear about Torch and sign up to access our services and for our staff and volunteer team as they transcribe, record, produce and distribute these accessible Christian resources.

        When I can’t sleep
I put on my In Your Pocket
and listen to one of your books…
        they calm me down
        and help me connect
        with the Lord.

        Rosslyn

Our lending library has over 2,800 titles in braille, large print and audio. Your support is making a difference helping us add more and more resources to inspire and encourage individuals with sight loss.

We have recently added several new titles to our collection including ‘Minor Prophets, Major Prayer’ by Deborah Duncan, ‘Hope in an anxious world’ by Helen Thorne and ‘Eric Liddell, Finish the race’ by John W Keddie. Our collection includes a rich variety of study materials, biographies and even Christian novels.

At Torch House you can always hear the buzz as our machines produce our audio, large print and braille resources.

“There are a lot of people  who rely on what we produce.”
