REGIONAL

Rev Paul Arnold who was until recently part of the Corby Torch Group will be moving to Eastleigh in Hampshire to be nearer his family. Paul is a former Baptist minister and has been involved with Torch over many years. As we have little representation in Hampshire and Wiltshire we have recruited Paul to act as Regional Coordinator to help us pioneer new Groups in that vicinity.

INTERNATIONAL

170 volumes of Chichewa Scriptures were ordered and produced on the Everest braillers in Blantyre Malawi in April.

Janet had wonderful times at overnight prayer and praise gatherings for blind people.

Saturday May 7th saw the launch of the first Torch Fellowship Group in Dublin. A highly enthusiastic group who only started as a Prayer Group in October last year! Leonard was able to attend and thought it went really well with everyone sharing together.

LITERATURE NEWS

We had a great Accessible Books Day on Saturday May 21 with about 40 transcribers and reviewers in attendance. However we need more reviewers. Please ring us at Torch if you would like some flyers to put on your church notice boards.

TORCH HOUSE NEWS

Catriona Cumming, Torch's Volunteer Coordinator writes: 'About six years ago I started asking questions about what God wanted me to do, and so began a discernment process. That process has reached a significant stage, as I have been recommended for training for ordination in the C of E, commencing at the end of September with a theological college in Cambridge.' We send her our warmest congratulations and loving prayers!

HOLIDAY NEWS

The South Wales house party was a great success! Linda Turner one of the helpers writes: 'We had a great time. and made 19 new friends. We were near Cardiff so enjoyed trips to the city, the castle and Barry island. Peter Jackson was brilliant as he led us with a musical quiz every night plus times of open worship. Two of the guests gave wonderful testimonies. The food was superb.'
