Our new initiative of promoting fellowship with a passion for Christian literature sees our Book Groups continuing to raise steady interest. We have groups in Chichester, Leicester, Peterborough and one emerging in Banchory in the north east of Scotland.
From all the staff at Torch House we wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful 2012. May you know God's blessing at Christmas and may the gospel of the coming of Jesus Christ encourage and inspire you afresh.
Janet wrote recently from Malawi: "I spent time today with my dear brother in Jesus called Harlord. He was tested HIV positive 3 years ago. I was horrified to see him, I just cried. He is covered with sores, scabs and hardly recognisable. I took him some food and washing items. His thanksgiving to God was so spontaneous. As I took his hands into mine he told me how folks don't like to touch him because of all his sores - I felt the tears running down my face. He continued to tell me that when he sees Jesus all his hurt will be erased, and as he continues to suffer he knows it is only for a short while but being with JESUS will be forever. Wow!! This is life here in the bush parts of Malawi." Please pray.
Take the "Bible in A Year" challenge! We have available two free "Bible In A Year" plans in either giant print or braille.
Also available is E100 featuring 100 essential Bible readings in braille, giant print and DAISY which has proved very popular with churches and can be obtained on loan or purchased for just £5.
We are very grateful to God for all the gifts, donations and legacies we receive from individuals, churches, groups and charitable bodies, sometimes unexpected sources! One of the most recent was given by the National Committee of Women's World Day of Prayer to the tune of £5000 towards one of our new strategic initiatives. Praise God for His continual faithfulness!
The Book Week at Torch Holiday and Retreat Centre was very much appreciated by the guests - activities included an audio transcription masterclass, theatre trip to "An Inspector Calls", and an imaginative scripture meditation using granite stones off the beach at Iona.
