On Disability Sunday, June 6th, Lydia Tebbutt spoke at Kirby Muxloe Free Church in Leicester, Gordon Temple shared at his local Anglican church in Welford and David Palmer was at St Paul's C of E in New England, Peterborough. We were all very well received and had good opportunities to share about the work of Torch. In the autumn we are hoping to forge stronger links with the churches by inviting them to come and see all the various operations at Torch House. We are grateful to God for all the many openings to share with others the work He has called us to undertake.
Lapson Mbewe reports from Malawi. "Praise the Lord that among over 600 people who gave their lives to the Lord - in a remote area where there has been a recent church plant and then a Gospel Outreach - eight were blind people. Hallelujah!"
Janet Stafford thanks you for your prayers. Her knee has healed well and she's making good progress with mobility. Praise God!
Miss S says "Thank you for my braille and DAISY books. The Library choose and I have been surprised and delighted. I couldn't put down 'I Wish I Was' by Anona Coates in braille. I read it in three days. It's wonderful to see new and up to date books in the braille Library. The braille is in wonderful condition with lovely quality paper. I want to send my greetings to Torch, I love you all, you are wonderful."
We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Catriona Cumming to the Torch staff team as our new Volunteer Coordinator. We are deeply indebted to all those who volunteer their time and talents here at Torch House and it is good to have Catriona helping coordinate all their work.
Neil Humphrey from Kettering says of the recent Ready for Action week: "We had a fantastic time with activities including horse riding, row boating, abseiling, bungee trampolining, a trip to Alton Towers for two days and a trip to London to see 'Sister Act' at the Palladium. We had glorious weather all the time and the food was wonderful. People on the holiday came from as far away as Northern Ireland and Scotland and all were great company."
