Occupational Requirements

Torch is a Christian Mission working primarily with Christian organisations and Christian clients. The person undertaking these duties is not expected to have close contact with our users and is therefore not required to accept the Torch Basis of Faith however they are required to acknowledge that they are working for a Christian Mission and to have sympathy with, and understanding of, the Torch Ethos.


Production Assistant Team Member

Main Purpose

Join our small group of volunteers who help for occasional short periods (one or two days) in dealing with a large run of printing. The work is semi-skilled, skills that can be easily learnt on the job.

This role would suit someone living locally to Market Harborough. We would like to build up a team of 3 or 4 people who could be called on, and share this work.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Desirable Skills

Should be able to work quickly, and be able to adapt to changeable workloads. Enjoy working with others, but also be able to work individually too. Should be conscientious and attentive to detail with a systematic, methodical approach. Have and empathy for blind and partially sighted people. Training will be provided.

Expected Hours and Pattern of Volunteering

We anticipate that this role will be 1 or 2 days every 3 months.

Risk Assessment

There are no significant risks involved in this work. However the production equipment is in the same area of building, should you be asked to work on any of this equipment you will receive the appropriate training.

If there are occasions when you need to lift packages that are heavier than normal ask for assistance and ensure you comply with manual handling recommendations.
