Volunteer 2020 - can you help make a difference this year?

The work of Torch Trust relies heavily on the contribution made by volunteers. There are many rewarding opportunities for Christian service through Torch, working on your own or with others.

Volunteering opportunities has always been an important part of the work of Torch. Volunteers are of great help to the ministry of Torch, but individuals find that the experience of volunteering benefits them significantly too. We continue to hear stories of friends who have worked here in the past, who regard their time with us as a positive experience.

Within two categories there are the following areas of volunteer activity at Torch:

  • Torch House - at Market Harborough – including Hospitality; Audio Editorial and Transcription; Production and Distribution.
  • National - Home based - Audio Transcription; Representative and Support roles; support for Torch Together events and Torch Fellowship Groups throughout the UK.

It is important that we take time to ensure that both volunteer and Torch fit well together, that the volunteer role is well suited to the volunteer and that they gain a real sense of fulfilment in undertaking these duties. New volunteer applicants will therefore initially be invited to speak with a supervisor and as appropriate to visit us to learn something about the work we do. For some roles we may visit you in your home to discuss the opportunity of volunteering.
